Inauguration of double-decker bus by PA Mohamed Riyas
Thiruvananthapuram: With an aim to boost Kerala tourism, KSRTC has launched a special double-decker bus service for tourists visiting Thiruvananthapuram. From Monday onwards, day and night trips will be available to explore significant spots in the state capital.

The service called City Ride was inaugurated by Adv PA Mohamed Riyas, minister for PWD and tourism. Flagging off the bus, Minister Mohamed Riyas said that this is a model initiated to enjoy the beauty of Thiruvananthapuram and necessary publicity will be given to the service through DTPC.
The KSRTC budget tours have provided the double-decker bus which has an open roof that caters the tourists with an easy view while travelling.

The first trip was carried out with the inmates of the Child Welfare Committee. KSRTC CMD also promised that a few trips will be carried out on a sponsorship basis. The night service will cover Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Secretariat, Legislative Assembly, Museum, Kanakakunnu Palace, Vellayambalam, Kovalam and Lulu mall.

Rs 350 for day and night trip
Currently, ‘the night city ride’ is operated from 5 pm to 10 pm and ‘the day city ride’ operated from 9 am to 4 pm. The ticket price for both these services is Rs 250. Tickets are available for Rs 200 as an inaugural offer. Snacks and welcome drinks will be provided during the journey.
For those who book tickets for the day and night trip, only Rs 350 will be charged.
