NORKA launches NORKA Care health insurance offering ₹5 lakh coverage for Malayali expatriates and their families.

Thiruvananthapuram: NORKA has launched a new health insurance scheme worth ₹5 lakh exclusively for Malayali expatriates within India and abroad. This initiative covers expatriates working overseas as well as those employed in other Indian states, along with their families.
For a family of four (man, wife and two children), the annual premium is ₹13,411 including GST. For individuals, the premium is ₹8,101. Adding one more child will cost an additional ₹4,130 under the scheme, which is branded as NORKA Care.
Based on an announcement made during the 4th Loka Kerala Sabha, the scheme will be implemented from November 1. Registration will be open from September 22 to October 21. Eligible age group: 18–70 years. In the event of accidental death, the insured expatriate’s family will receive compensation of ₹10 lakh.
Cashless treatment facilities are available in over 17,000 hospitals across India, including 470 hospitals in Kerala. A major highlight is that treatment will also be provided for pre-existing illnesses. Families of expatriates can avail up to ₹5 lakh worth of medical treatment anywhere in India. Over two lakh people holding NORKA ID cards are expected to benefit from the scheme, according to NORKA CEO Ajith Kolassery.
Enrolment can be done through the NORKA Care app by logging in with a NORKA ID card, NRK ID card or Student ID card number.

- Individual plan: ₹8,101 per year (₹5 lakh coverage + ₹10 lakh accidental cover).
- Family plan (husband, wife, two children): ₹13,411 (₹5 lakh coverage + ₹10 lakh accidental cover).
