Thiruvananthapuram: KSEB has temporarily suspended electricity supply to the KSRTC central depot in Thampanoor for almost an hour on Saturday, owing to non-payment of bills.
Surprisingly, the KSRTC officials learned about the electricity dues only when KSEB agents arrived at the depot informing them about suspension of services. However, the reason for the lapse was discovered later on.
All in all, there are four separate connections to the central depot. Apparently, the newly appointed accountant at the depot had paid bills of three out of four connections. But he was totally unaware of the existence of a fourth connection. As a result, he failed to settle the bills. Upon identifying the confusion, the KSEB authorities intervened immediately, and settled the bills.
The electricity supply was restored in almost an hour. However, the KSRTC officials opined that the KSEB authorities had snapped the connection without any intimation.
