Pathanamthitta: A newborn baby boy was found abandoned at a roadside eatery in Thiruvalla on Sunday morning, police said. The infant, believed to be only a few days old, was discovered around 5 am at the eatery in Kuttoor, which operates near the owner’s residence.
According to officials, the eatery owner heard the baby crying when he opened the shop early in the morning. He alerted nearby residents, who in turn informed the Thiruvalla police. The police rushed to the spot and shifted the child to Thiruvalla Taluk Hospital for medical care.

In a separate incident, a boy aged around two years was found abandoned on a train in Kochi on Saturday. Railway police said they received information about the child, who was discovered alone aboard the Pune–Ernakulam Express.
The child was rescued and taken to the Ernakulam Railway Police Station. Officials said he will be moved to a children’s home after consultations with the District Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
