Thiruvananthapuram: The criteria for extending the time to enter the job for those who get dependent appointments have been revised. The new provision states that the entry time can be extended by 45 days from the date of the order. The appointment of those who do not report for work after receiving the appointment order and those who do not follow the instructions will be cancelled. The order also states that there will be no further review of this.

The date of joining the job should be specified in the dependent appointment order. Those who are unable to join the job within this period will be given relaxation in eligible cases. The appointing authority may extend the period up to 45 days on application.

Students and those working on bond will be allowed a maximum of six months if more than 45 days are required. This will be granted by the concerned department. If more time is required, the candidate can take loss of pay leave after joining.

If the candidates are abroad, a maximum of six months will be given. If more time is required, the appointing authority may allow one more month after the end of the contract with the employer for those working abroad. If the candidate decides to join the job abroad after getting the appointment order, only six months will be allowed. The contracts entered into by the candidates should be examined and a decision in this regard should be taken. If those who are physically disabled due to illness, accident etc. need more than 45 days, the Chief Minister will take a decision on such applications. For this, the application should enclose medical records along with the recommendation of the appointing authority.
