Thrissur: A new passenger train service has been approved on the Thrissur–Guruvayur route, offering relief to daily commuters and devotees travelling to the temple town. The decision was confirmed after the Union Railway Ministry issued an official order, which was shared by Union Minister Suresh Gopi.

As per the order, Passenger Train Nos. 56115/56116 will operate between Thrissur and Guruvayur. The train will depart from Thrissur at 8:10 pm and reach Guruvayur at 8:45 pm. On the return journey, it will leave Guruvayur at 6:10 pm and arrive in Thrissur at 6:50 pm.

Announcing the development through a Facebook post, Suresh Gopi said the approval comes in response to long-standing demands raised by passengers through social media and personal representations. He described the decision as an auspicious and timely step by the Railway Ministry.

The Union Minister added that the new service would ease travel difficulties faced by commuters and pilgrims and improve connectivity between Thrissur and Guruvayur.
