Thiruvananthapuram: A fresh complaint has been filed against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. Another young woman has alleged that Rahul subjected her to severe sexual abuse. She reportedly filed the complaint via email to the Congress leadership. The complaint was sent to KPCC president Sunny Joseph, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and others. The woman alleges that she was abused under the pretext of a marriage promise. She emailed the complaint at around 1pm. Congress leadership has confirmed receiving the complaint.

The woman (23 yrs old), who lives outside Kerala (apparently in Bengaluru), states that the abuse occurred at a hotel in Pathanamthitta during her visit to the state. She further alleges that Rahul withdrew from the promise of marriage after the incident.

Earlier, another young woman had complained to the Chief Minister against Rahul Mamkootathil. In that case, Rahul, who is an accused, remains absconding. A special investigation team has been conducting an extensive search for the MLA within and outside the state, but he has still not been found.
