Kochi: CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that he had a conversation with MV Jayarajan regarding the circumstances of the latter addressing a journalist in the name of a terrorist. A momentary ‘spirit’ urged Jayarajan to call a journalist after Osama bin Laden, said MV Govindan.

“This could be perceived as a statement similar to Jayarajan’s earlier remark about the court,” said Govindan. The state secretary also warned party leaders to be cautious while delivering something which is not the stance of the party.

Govindan ruled out the possibility of any kind of racial discrimination in the comments of Jayarajan. The term ‘bin’ was a slip of the tongue and no one in the party supports those remarks. Hence, there is no need to express any apologies here, he added.
