Thenmala: Mohanlal visited the historic Thirumalai Kovil temple at Sengottai, located on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. On Thursday morning, around 6:30 am, Mohanlal and his friends offered prayers at the Panpozhi Thirumala Kumaraswamy Temple. As a votive offering, he gave a copper coated spear (vel).

Thirumalai Kovil, built centuries ago on a hilltop, is a temple visited daily by hundreds of devotees from Kerala. He left after informing that he would return to the temple again. Also known as the 'Southern Palani', Thirumalai Kovil—dedicated to Lord Murugan—is visited by both devotees and tourists alike.

The temple, located atop a hill at Panpozhi in Sengottai along the Western Ghats, is entirely constructed from black stone. According to temple records, it was built centuries ago by Sivakami Ammaiyar. It is also believed that the initial parts of the temple were constructed by the King of Pandalam. Here, Lord Murugan is popularly known as ‘Kumaraswamy’.
