Thiruvananthapuram: The Government of Kerala will honour Malayalam cinema's beloved actor Mohanlal, who recently received the country’s highest film honour, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, with a grand public event in the state capital. Entry to the event is free for the public.

Titled ‘Malayalam Vaanolam, Lal Salaam’, the celebratory event will take place on October 4, Saturday, at the Central Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, at 5 pm.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will honour Mohanlal on behalf of the state. The ceremony is expected to witness the presence of several prominent figures from the Indian film industry.

Following the official felicitation, a unique musical programme titled ‘Raagam Mohanam’ will be presented by T K Rajeev Kumar.

The show will feature leading actresses and singers who have worked with Mohanlal throughout his illustrious career.

As part of the cultural evening, Mohanlal himself will also participate in special performances on stage.
