The MP also remarked that discussions taking place on social media cannot be assumed to represent Congress cadres alone

Kozhikode: Congress MP MK Raghavan has strongly criticised the open power struggle within the party over the Chief Minister’s post, saying such discussions and public exchanges between leaders are harmful to the party in its current situation.
He said that bringing internal issues into the public domain is not beneficial to anyone and only adds to discomfort within the organisation. According to him, such “musical chairs” over leadership positions amounts to a slight on the party workers who are working tirelessly to bring the United Democratic Front (UDF) back to power.
Raghavan added that ordinary party workers would not accept such developments, as they undermine their efforts and morale.
He reiterated that the final decision on the Chief Ministerial candidate rests with the Congress high command, and that the leadership’s decisions on organisational matters are binding. He said the high command would take appropriate decisions at the right time.

The MP also remarked that discussions taking place on social media cannot be assumed to represent Congress cadres alone, alleging that outsiders have infiltrated cyberspace to exploit internal differences within the party. He suggested that such elements may be attempting to aggravate the situation further.
Raghavan further revealed that a senior leader had once asked him to contest from a seat he was likely to lose, though he declined to name the individual. He also sidestepped questions regarding the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president’s position that MPs should not contest Assembly elections, describing it as a “closed chapter.”
