Vizhinjam: A Parassala native is facing serious criticism for allowing his 5-year-old relative to take control of a motorcycle on a busy road. The incident occurred on Sunday around 2:30 pm on the Kazhakkoottam-Karode Bypass. The man willfully handed over the bike's handlebar to the young boy, attempting to intervene only when the child lost control.
It was a holiday, and the bypass was crowded with vehicles, making the stunt even more reckless. In addition to giving the minor control of the bike, neither the child nor the man was wearing a helmet.
The dangerous stunt was recorded by passing vehicles, and the video quickly gained attention. The Thiruvananthapuram Regional Transport Officer (RTO) K Bijumon, confirmed that the man’s license, as well as the vehicle’s registration, would be cancelled. He stated that the action was being taken for allowing the child to ride the motorcycle and for putting the minor’s life at risk.
Following the incident, authorities traced the owner of the motorcycle using its license plate. It was revealed that the man was a resident of Parassala. The RTO confirmed that the Parassala Joint RTO and the Motor Vehicle Inspector would visit the bike owner on Monday to verify the vehicle’s documents and take further action.
