
Alathur: Minister K B Ganesh Kumar made a lightning visit to the Sub RTO office here in Palakkad, instructing the staff to maintain respectful behaviour towards the public and ensure the office is kept clean and organised.
During his visit, the Minister responded to a complaint from a resident who had not received the RC (Registration Certificate) for their vehicle despite applying over a year ago. Minister Ganesh Kumar directed the staff to issue the RC immediately. He further emphasised the need for maintaining cleanliness in the office, suggesting the introduction of a ‘Smart Saturday’ initiative once a month to achieve this goal.

The Minister arrived at the office at 2.30 pm on Friday, shortly after attending a felicitation ceremony organised by the Alathur Taluk Public Servants Co-operative Society. The event, held at the Alathur Mini Civil Station Hall, honoured students who had achieved high marks.
The minister greeted the ceremony and the inaugural function and later went to the Sub RTO along with Alathur MLA K D Prasenan. The staff pointed out that there was no full-time RTO at their office. Instead, Pattambi RTO has been given an additional charge.
In response, the Minister assured the staff that a permanent appointee would be arriving soon. The officials were initially taken aback by the Minister’s visit, but later provided him with a detailed explanation of the office’s operations.
