Milma is set to hike milk prices by up to Rs 6 per litre following a crucial board meeting on April 29.

Thiruvananthapuram: The price of Milma milk is likely to increase by ₹4 to ₹6 per litre. A formal announcement is expected following the Milma Federation Board of Directors meeting scheduled for Aprill 29.
Although the Federation had initially decided to hike prices last January, the state government was hesitant to approve the move due to the approaching elections. This delay sparked protests from various regional wings, including the Milma Ernakulam Regional Union, whose officials pointed out that dairy farmers cannot survive without a price revision.
A three-member committee appointed by the Federation to study the price hike suggested an increase of ₹4 to ₹6. However, farmers are firmly demanding a full ₹6 increase.
Meanwhile, Milma Federation chairman K S Mani stated that since the Model Code of Conduct is currently in effect, they will seek permission from the Election Commission and proceed based on government directives.
