Thiruvananthapuram: The medical board has confirmed that the death of young director Nayana Surya was not a murder. Instead, the medical board determined that the cause of death was a myocardial infarction.

The Crime Branch has received the final report from the medical board, and it is now suggested that the investigation be closed based on this report.

On February 24, 2019, Nayana Surya (28) was found dead in a rented house in Althara Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram. Initially, the police reported the incident as a natural death. However, the post-mortem report noted bruises and injuries, adding a layer of mystery to the case. Discrepancies in the inquest report further fuelled suspicions. Following concerns raised by Nayana's friends and family, the Crime Branch took over the investigation.

It's noteworthy that Nayana Surya had worked as the co-director of director Lenin Rajendran, and her passing occurred just a month after his demise.
