Medical Board report on death of young director Nayana Surya soon

Thiruvananthapuram: The Medical Board of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College will soon submit its report on the death of young director Nayana Surya. The Board, which held a special meeting on Tuesday, analysed the findings of the crime branch's investigation so far. It is learnt that the crime branch, which is re-probing the case, has ruled out foul play in the death. The Medical Board assumes myocardial infarction may have caused the death. 

The meeting was attended by forensic and psychiatric experts who reviewed the post-mortem report and medical examination results. A group of eight people were present during the meeting, and the medical board will issue a final report within 20 days, which will contain the conclusive cause of death. The crime branch will proceed with the investigation based on this report.

Myocardial infarction is a condition similar to heart failure. It is concluded that the death was not sudden as the condition may have lasted for two to six hours. The post-mortem report had noted that an injury similar to the one caused by a heavy stamp was found on the abdomen along with internal injuries. The cause of death was found as strangulation by considering the discoloration on her neck.

The crime branch has also concluded that the room was locked from the inside at the time of Nayana Surya's death, and no credible evidence was found to suggest that someone else had entered the room even through the balcony. Additionally, the suspicion of a call being received on Nayana's phone during the time of her death and being rejected has been ruled out by the Crime Branch.
