Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Women's Commission has announced the Media Awards for the year 2020. Mathrubhumi Thrissur sub-editor Sreekala S received the award in the Best Report / Feature (Malayalam, Print Media) category for  'Aliyan Suhra aalu Poliyan’. The award-winning story is about a woman who engages in different jobs and social works and makes her life extraordinary.

Mathrubhumi News Sub Editor / Reporter Riya Baby won the award in the Best Report / Feature (Malayalam Visual Media) category for featuring the life of Sudha, a woman who grew up to be a bird watcher. Kerala Kaumudi Kochi Chief Photographer NR Sudharmadas won the award in the Best Photography category and Media One Cameraman Manesh Perumanna won the award in the Best Videography category.

Due to an insufficient number of entries, no award was given in the English category. A panel of commission members and prominent journalists like Malayinkeezhu Gopalakrishnan and Saritha Varma were part of the award jury. In photography category, photographer B Jayachandran and IPRD chief photographer V VinodIn were also part of the jury in addition to the commission members.
