
Thrissur: Mathrubhumi-Federal Bank SEED (Student Empowerment for Environmental Development) ‘Vishishta Haritha Vidyalayam Award’, worth Rs 1 lakh, of the 2023-2024 academic year goes to Chentrappinni Higher Secondary School, Thrissur.
Edathanattukara PKHMOUP School, Palakkad won second place (Rs 75,000) and Kambalakkad GUPS, Wayanad, bagged third prize (Rs 50,000). ‘Shreshta Haritha Vidyalayam Award’ of Kozhikode district was bagged by St. Mary’s Jnanodaya English School in Maikave.
On the fifteenth year of the SEED awards, 6,740 schools in the State took part in the project. Through sowing, reaping and harvesting, students also learned life lessons along with nature lessons. The project also teaches children to be compassionate, help others rise up and to fight against dangers like addiction.
