Kochi: Congress leader and Muvattupuzha MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan on Wednesday responded to the allegations raised against him by the CPM state secretary MV Govindan.
“If I claim that CPM district secretaries CN Mohanan (Ernakulam) and CV Varghese (Idukki) have amassed disproportionate wealth over the years; I wonder whether Govindan will be willing to launch an investigation based upon my allegations. But whatever the case, I stand by my claims, and the accused may file a defamation case against me if I am wrong,” said Kuzhalnadan.

The public representative who is also a lawyer alleged that the AKG centre in Thiruvananthapuram was constructed violating land acts and rules.
The MLA reasserted that land conversion rules were not violated when he purchased the plot in Chinnakanal. Kuzhalandan claimed that his “resort was functioning adhering to all the existing rules and regulations.”
“No tax evasion has been done while purchasing the Chinnakanal plot. Added value has been shown since the resort was constructed using residential permits. And similarly, I have never compromised on my duties and responsibilities as a lawyer,” says Mathew Kuzhalnadan.
“No illegal land levelling has been done in my resort premises, there is video evidence for the same. I am being targeted for bringing out the monthly payoff scam involving Kerala CM’s daughter T Veena. Earlier, I had already mentioned in my election affidavit that I hold 24 percent stakes in a foreign company, with a market value of approximately Rs 9 crores. I have not done any illegal financial transactions nor have I violated FEMA rules,” Kuzhalnadan concluded.
