Kozhikode: Former finance minister Dr T.M Thomas Isaac said that Mathew Kuzhalnadan’s accusations are baseless and that in mentioning the taxes unpaid by Veena’s Exalogic Solutions, he has admitted that these are payments for services rendered. Service tax or GST must be paid and with this, the curtain falls on the controversy surrounding irregular financial dealings. 

Penning his thoughts on his Facebook page, Thomas Isaac opined that Kuzhalnadan and his fans should no longer speak of the financial dealings now as the story is over. Both companies involved have separate GST registrations and taxes may be paid by either or both. What is required now is to assess whether the full tax has been paid. The concerned department has procedures to verify this. What kind of corruption is there in this? Mathew Kuzhalnadan must show the humility to apologize if it is proved that taxes were paid, Isaac wrote.

CPM Ernakulam secretary has raised serious allegations against Kuzhalnadan and speaking about the GST bill is just his attempt to divert attention from his own deeds, he said. He further rejected Kuzhalnandan’s challenge to examine his financial records saying that he has proficiency in economics, not accountancy.
