BJP petitions the NIA to investigate Arabic restaurants in Kerala over controversial Sree Krishna Manthi posters and alleged links to banned groups.

Thiruvananthapuram: The BJP has moved against several Arabic restaurants following a controversy over Manthi advertisements featuring images of Lord Krishna. The saffron party has submitted a formal letter to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) demanding a probe into eight specific restaurants. The complaint alleges that the advertisement intentionally wounded religious sentiments and calls for a thorough investigation into the financial sources of these establishments.
Praseed Das, the BJP Intellectual Cell convener, issued the letter to the NIA Director. The petition urges a comprehensive audit of the financial growth and funding sources of these restaurants following the 2016 demonetisation. Furthermore, the BJP has requested an investigation into whether these establishments maintain links with the banned organisation, Popular Front of India (PFI). The names of eight hotels have been explicitly mentioned in the complaint.
