Manju Warrier paid tribute to Malayalam's beloved writer, MT Vasudevan Nair, following his death. The actress shared her heartfelt memories of the late writer in a Facebook post, reflecting on a precious gift MT had once given her—a palm leaf manuscript.

In her post, Manju recalled a specific moment nine years ago when she was invited to inaugurate the Vidyarambham Kalolsavam at Thunjan Parambu in Tirur. It was on that day that MT gifted her the palm leaf manuscript, a memory she cherishes deeply. "When MT sir passes by, I remember a palm leaf manuscript he gifted to me nine years ago when I went to inaugurate the Vidyarambham Kalolsavam in Tirur's Thunjan Parambu. That day, I looked at those fingers," she wrote.

Manju reflected on how those very fingers were responsible for bringing to life some of Malayalam's most memorable characters like Bheem, Sethu, Vimala, and Chandu. In her message, Manju expressed her admiration for MT, whom she described as a father figure to modern Malayalam literature. She fondly remembered how she could only play his character once, yet the role he had gifted her was named after a tender emotion—Daya (compassion). She also fondly recalled how MT would smile at her every time they met.

Manju concluded her post by saying that the memories of those moments and the palm leaf manuscript would stay with her forever. She expressed her gratitude for the kindness MT had shown her and his immense contribution to Malayalam literature. "Thank you, sir, for your kindness and for making Malayalam great," Manju wrote.
