Malappuram: An assistant professor at Government Medical College Manjeri has been suspended pending enquiry as the vigilance department found the person working in a private hospital here.
The person facing the Department of Medical Education’s action has been identified as Dr Abdul Gafoor.
The rule book bars faculties at government medical college hospitals from private practice. The vigilance received complaints against Gafoor and officials had a field visit to the private hospital.
The officials found the claims in the complaints to be genuine. They reportedly took a statement from the person too. The new development comes at this juncture.
