Kannur: In a tragic incident, a man who rushed to take his ailing child to hospital was killed in a car accident at Biriyani road here on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Bilal (32), a resident at Mattool south near CH centre. His three-month-old daughter, who was suffering from cardiac problems, also breathed her last at the hospital.
Muhammad Bilal met with the accident when he was on way to his wife’s house near Biriyani road. He rushed to his wife’s house after he was informed that his daughter Sheza Fathima is not well. His car met with the accident when he tried to save a man who was crossing the road. As he lost control of the car, it toppled into a nearby canal.
Bilal suffered severe injuries on head in the accident. Though he was taken to the hospital, the doctors failed to save him.
Bilal’s three-month-old daughter was under treatment for cardiac disease. On Tuesday, the child’s condition became worse. After informing the matter to Bilal, his wife and family took the child to the hospital. But the child succumbed to the disease.
Bilal was working as driver in Dubai and returned home three months ago. He failed to fly back to Dubai following the lockdown over coronavirus outbreak.
Pazhayangadi police carried out the inquest and handed over the body to relatives after post-mortem at Kannur Govt.Medical College.
Bilal’s last rites were performed at Kabristan in Matool Mohideen mosque.
Bilal is the son of late Muhammad Kunhi and Mukkalakath Hafsath. He is survived by his wife Shamsheera and three brothers Afsal, Ajmal, Adhil and Asif.
