Mavelikkara: In an unfortunate incident, a man died after a car exploded in Mavelikkara, Alappuzha around Sunday midnight. The deceased has been identified as Krishna Prakash alias Kannan (35), a native of Karazhma. As per reports, the incident took place while the youth was parking the car near his house premises. 

Krishna Prakash had been running an internet cafe near Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Mavelikkara. The accident occurred while he was on his way home after work. Reportedly, the vehicle exploded with a thud as he was parking in front of his rented house.  

Although locals rushed to the spot, they failed to douse the fire. Following which, fire brigade officers arrived and brought the fire under control, but the youth could not be saved. Meanwhile, the cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained. 

Krishna Prakash is the son of late Thankappan Pillai and Rathiyamma. He is unmarried.
