Mumbai: Two cars were completely gutted in a fire suspected to have been sparked by firecrackers during Diwali celebrations near a hospital in the Ghatkopar area late on Monday night, civic officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The incident occurred around 11:33pm near the Neelyog Vedanta building, close to Arogyadayi Hospital at Nityanand Nagar. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Fire brigade officials, along with local police, responded promptly and managed to bring the blaze under control shortly after arrival.
Local residents believe that the fire was triggered by firecrackers being set off in the vicinity, a fire department official stated.
