
Kozhikode: Vishnu, a 30-year-old soldier from Eranhikkal in Kozhikode, who went missing while on leave, was located in Bengaluru. He was found late Tuesday night near the Majestic railway station in Bengaluru. Vishnu had been missing since December 17 after informing his family that he was coming home on leave. His wedding had been arranged for January.
Police officials revealed that Vishnu’s disappearance was linked to financial difficulties. He left without informing his family, and his phone was found to be switched off, complicating the investigation. The police team worked utilising CCTV footage and tracking his movements before finding him in Bengaluru. Vishnu will be brought back home on Wednesday.

Vishnu, who works as a boxer at the Pune Army Sports Institute, had last communicated with his mother on December 16, stating that he was travelling home. However, after failing to arrive and being unreachable by phone, his relatives filed a missing person report.
The police team, led by Elathur Sub-Inspector Mohammed Siyad, Senior Civil Police Officer Atul Kumar, and Civil Police Officer Vysakh, investigated the case using CCTV footage and mobile tracking. A special investigation team, including Cyber Cell experts, was formed to assist in the search under the supervision of City Police Commissioner T Narayanan.
