The alleged remark was made in response to a media query regarding the arrest of filmmaker Ranjith in a sexual assault case.

Palakkad: The BJP’s Mahila Morcha has filed a police complaint against UDF candidate Ramesh Pisharody, alleging that he made remarks insulting to women during the election campaign.
District Mahila Morcha president Kavitha Menon lodged the complaint with the district police chief, seeking action against Pisharody. The complaint alleges that his statement amounted to an insult to womanhood.
The controversy erupted after Pisharody was stopped during a campaign event at Vadakkanthara in Palakkad on Wednesday night by a BJP woman councillor and others, triggering a political row.
Explaining the incident, NDA candidate Shobha Surendran said the protest was not against canvassing for votes but against the alleged anti-women remark. She also demanded that Pisharody apologise.
Responding to the developments, Pisharody said he would not pursue legal action over being blocked by BJP workers and added that the public should judge the matter.
