Lynching case: Will file appeal, family confirms as court pronounces sentences

Palakkad: The family of the victim in the 2018 Attappadi mob lynch murder on Wednesday responded after the court pronounced the sentences in the case. According Sarasu, sister of victim Madhu, the family is not satisfied with the sentences. “We will appeal," she said.

Sarasu detailed why the family believes justice was not delivered. “The court has not understood what has happened. In the last four years, no one stood with us. The defence was confident that there wouldn't be anyone to help us. We won't entertain an order of things where anything can be said or done against the Adivasis," she noted. 

She also urged the government to appoint two prosecutors for pursuing the matter in the higher court. 

Madhu’s mother Malli while reacting to the court’s verdict the other day said that she would appeal in the court until all the accused are punished.
