Thiruvananthapuram: The second stage of voters list updation for the Local Self Government polls will commence on August 12. The voters list of 941 village panchayats, 86 municipalities and 6 corporations, published on June 17, is being updated.
The basic list and supplementary lists will be published as draft on August 12. The draft voters list has 1,25,49,302 male, 1,36,84,019 female and 180 transgender voters. There are a total of 2,62,24,501 voters, said state Election Commissioner V. Bhaskaran.
The draft voters list can be examined by logging into the website www.lsgelection.kerala.gov.in. Those who are not included in the list can apply online to include their names from August 12. Online applications must be submitted for corrections and change of location.
Applications for removal of names from voters list must be submitted to the Electoral Registration Officers in person or through post by August 26. The final voters list will be published on September 26.
The Electoral Registration Officer will take steps to remove the names of the deceased voters included in the list. Once the election is announced, another chance will be given to add names in the voters list.
