Puthuppally: The United Democratic Front (UDF) and the Left Democratic Front (LDF) are still at odds over an audio tape that has been circulating on social media claiming that late Congress leader Oommen Chandy did not receive sufficient treatment in his final days.
Responding to charges that the Left Front is behind the audio clip, Minister V.N Vasavan criticised the UDF for targeting the LDF. Meanwhile, Jaick C. Thomas, the LDF candidate in Puthuppally, challenged UDF to initiate a probe to verify the audio's authenticity.
Chandy Oommen, on the other hand, stated that his father had kept a diary describing his health concerns. He stated that the diary's contents would be made public at a later date. Opposition leader V.D. Satheesan said that the audio clip was made with Minister V.N. Vasavan's knowledge.
Vasavan stated that the UDF has been trying to shift the blame on the LDF. "How did the LDF become responsible for an audio recording of two Congress leaders?" M Madhu is speaking with Pallickathodu Grama Panchayath President Vijayakumar. If the UDF demands an investigation, the truth will be revealed," he added.
"My father was aware that they would hunt him for the rest of his life. That is why he documented his medical condition in his diary. I stumbled upon his diary entries from October 6, discussing his health issues and treatments. In it, Dad wrote about his consultation with a doctor from America on my request. He also wrote about meeting Dr. Henti while attending the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Will publish the diary entries at the appropriate time," he said.
