Thiruvananthapuram: State Police Chief Sheikh Darvesh Sahib will inform the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes that there was no lapse on the part of Kerala regarding the marriage registration of the girl who gained social media attention during the Kumbh Mela.

The Commission had directed the State Police Chief to appear in Delhi on Wednesday, April 22.

The investigation concluded that the marriage was conducted after verifying the authenticity of documents, including the Aadhaar card and PAN card, which the girl submitted to the police and local self-government institutions as proof of being an adult.

However, the report submitted by the Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP to the Police Chief also stated that further investigation is required to determine whether the girl had submitted forged documents to obtain these initial records.
