Kochi: KTDFC has filed an additional affidavit at the Kerala High Court seeking six more months to return the money to depositors. Transport secretary-cum-KTDFC MD Bjiu Prabhakar has sought more time to return the money. He was responding to a petition filed by depositors who did not receive the amount on time.

In the affidavit submitted by the KTDFC, it was stated that four companies including the petitioners have already been given an amount of Rs 98.87 lakhs. Measures will be adopted by the corporation to pay back the rest of the depositors in the coming six months. In case KTDFC fails to do so, then the rest of the decisions will be taken upon the basis of the guarantee issued by the state government.

In a relief period of six months, the company is expected to regather itself and put things in order yet again. Amidst this, procedures will be undertaken to transfer the properties of KSRTC to KTDFC.

The High Court will take the matter into consideration tomorrow. An earlier affidavit stating that the government was in no way responsible for returning the deposits was heavily criticised by a single bench of the Kerala HC. An additional affidavit has now been filed in this backdrop.
