Thiruvananthapuram: 97 temporary employees of KTDC (Kerala Tourism Development Corporation) were made permanent and the order to this effect has been kept delayed to avoid any controversies. The post of receptionist, housekeeper, waiter, assistant cook, helper have been made permanent from February 16. But the order was put out on the website after the announcement of the election dates.
The move to make them permanent comes after the government decided to regularise those with 10 years of experience. The contract workers have moved the court demanding to make their jobs permanent. Based on this, KTDC recommended to the government to regularise the workers.
