Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Students Union (KSU) activists waved black flags at Higher Education Minister R. Bindu here on Sunday as a mark of protest against the controversial election at Kerala Varma College. 

The workers waved the flags while the minister's car was passing through Kanakakunnu. Meanwhile, the KSU activists poured black oil on a cut-out of Bindu in Thrissur. Later, the police took the protestors into custody. 

The protest came in the wake of the controversial election victory of the SFI candidate in Kerala Varma College, Thrissur. KSU claims that Bindu and Minister K. Radhakrishnan intervened in the college election.
