Palakkad: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has launched the 'Travel to Technology' educational and recreational tour program for school and college students.
Organized by the KSRTC's Budget Tourism Cell, the first trip from Palakkad district involved students and teachers from Peruvemba Government Junior Basic School. The group visited attractions like the Chavakkad Marine Aquarium and the Thrissur Zoo. The tour was organized by the Chittur Depot's Budget Tourism Cell.
Malappuram district was the first to initiate the 'Travel to Technology' program, with Palakkad being the second district to host the tours. The 'Travel to Technology' initiative aims to give students direct exposure to activities in the industrial and technological sectors.
The program is designed to enhance students' understanding of the growing industrial sectors and raise awareness about industries that are essential for the developing economy.
135 Packages Available
Over 135 tour packages have been included in the 'Travel to Technology' program, covering various industrial units across Kerala, such as ISRO, KSRTC regional workshops, United Electrical and Industries, Coir museum, and Milma plant. The tours are priced below Rs 500, which includes one day's meals for students visiting these industrial establishments.
The tours are conducted on a day-trip basis, departing in the morning and returning by evening.
