Thiruvananthapuram: Another episode of dramatic events has been added to the ongoing rift between KSEB management and pro-left officers' association KSEBOA as the latter laid siege to Vydyuthi Bhavan headquarters here on Tuesday, in spite of the ban order from its chairman B Ashok.

Around 1,000 officials laid siege in spite of the warning on disciplinary action. CITU state president Ananthalavattom Anandan inaugurated the protest here on Tuesday.

The protest which started from 9:30 AM continued till 3:00 PM. However, the protestors did not restrict the functioning of the headquarters. The association concluded the indefinite strike as referendum of employees unions are happening and as electricity minister K Krishnankutty has agreed for intervention. It is learnt that issue will be resolved over deliberation.

While, by the time minister called up a meeting to pacify and resolve the discord between the management and the association, KSEB’s vigilance wing recommended disciplinary action against the 18 officials who participated in the protest on April 5.
