Kochi: The newly elected MLA from Thiruppunithura K Babu said that as a new opposition leader was selected, it is cent percent sure that there will be a new KPCC president too.

Ramesh Chennithala's name was suggested in the initial phase beyond group politics. But it is not relevant any more. We accept the high command decision for a generation change, Babu told Mathrubhumi News.

Ramesh Chennithala was replaced from opposition leader post not because of any faults in his performance. He had made many important moves in the assembly as an efficient opposition leader, Babu added.

With the appointment of the new opposition leader, a change of generation has taken place in the party. The 'A' group has no concerns over giving both opposition leader post and KPCC president post to the 'I' group, the MLA made it clear.
