Kozhikode: The elderly woman, who was undergoing treatment after being hit by a tire detached from a running goods lorry, passed away on Thursday.

The deceased is Maruthur native Kalyanikutty Brahmani Amma. She was undergoing treatment at Medical College Hospital here.

The accident occurred on Wednesday at noon near Muthambi. The tire of the lorry detached and hit Kalyanikutty, who was 100 metre away from the vehicle.
