
KEF Holdings, a social enterprise based in the UAE founded by Malayali entrepreneur Faizal Edavalath Kottikollon is all set to start a holistic healthcare resort of net worth Rs 800 crore. This wellness resort is the first of its kind that integrates most modern medicinal practices, Ayurveda and traditional Tibetan treatment methods.
The resort will have treatment methods that include yoga, meditation and healing. A separate division equipped with modern facilities for sports rehabilitation and sports medicine will also function in the centre.
The project is being envisioned on a plot of 30 acres near Kozhikode airport. The resort has 130 rooms, out of which 50 will be ready for use by next March. The project is expected to be completed by March 2024, Faizal Kottikollon told Mathrubhumi News.
Tourism Minister P A Mohammed Riyas and UAE Ambassador to India Dr Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Banna will lay the foundation stone on March 27. An organic farm is also being set up near the resort.

Meitra Hospital, another venture of the KEF Holdings in Kozhikode will also be linked to this project which will boost the Malabar region in the area of medical value tourism. Faizal said that he has plans to start similar projects in southeastern countries including UAE, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Faizal is the son of the famous Kozhikode-based businessman PK Ahamed. The Faizal and Shabana Foundation, which he co-founded with his wife Shabana has been noted for its social welfare activities.
The Foundation’s help in the renovation of many schools, including the Government Girls High School in Nadakavu in Kozhikode, had earned much appreciation.
