
Kozhikode: A 13-year-old boy who went missing from the hostel of a Sainik school in Kozhikode has been rescued in Pune. The boy, a native of Bihar and a Class 7 student at Vedavyasa Sainik School in Malaparamba here, was reported missing last Monday.
He left the hostel in the early hours of last Monday without informing anyone. Following a complaint from the school authorities, Nadakkavu Police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Search operations were conducted in Pune, Bihar and Jharkhand. CCTV footage from Kozhikode railway station captured images of the boy, confirming his presence there. It was later verified that he had reached Palakkad railway station at around 11 am on
Monday. Police obtained visuals of him on the fourth platform.
The boy reportedly climbed down from the first floor of the school hostel using a bedsheet. To avoid injury upon landing, he placed a mattress on the ground before making the jump.
