Two workers were rescued after being trapped under an overturned concrete mixer truck during a landslip at a road construction site in Kozhikode.

Kozhikode (Kerala): Two workers were rescued after being trapped for nearly two hours under an overturned concrete mixing truck following a landslip during road construction work in Kozhikode district.
The accident occurred around 4:15 pm on Wednesday between Thiruthiyad and Moolappuram while work was underway to build a concrete retaining wall along the roadside.
The injured workers were identified as Nabeel (37), a Malayali driver, and Minarul, a native of Uttarakhand. Both were working for Malabar Associates, the contractor handling the road project.
The soil near the construction site suddenly collapsed while the concrete mixer truck was positioned to pour concrete for the retaining wall. The vehicle overturned and trapped the two workers underneath.

A crane was brought from Ramanattukara to lift the vehicle. Rescue teams managed to pull the workers out at around 6:30 pm.
Minarul suffered a severe foot injury, with part of his foot reportedly severed in the accident. Nabeel sustained multiple injuries to his arms and legs. Both were rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, for treatment.
The accident occurred during the Karad Channayil Palliyali road renovation project, where a concrete retaining wall is being built to strengthen the roadside.
The truck overturned into the courtyard of a nearby house belonging to Mannikadavathupuray Bichu, causing damage to the property.
The road at the location stands about six metres above ground level, and a two-metre-high concrete retaining wall had already been constructed. The mixer truck had arrived to pour concrete on the upper section when the soil above the wall gave way.
