Kozhikode: The accused in the Kozhikode Medical College ICU assault case, Saseendran, has been dismissed from service. The action was taken after an internal investigation confirmed misconduct on his part.
Despite being suspended following the incident, Saseendran had continued to report for duty at the hospital, prompting further outrage.
His dismissal follows a formal recommendation from the hospital's administrative wing (E-9), which was forwarded to the Principal. The Principal then reviewed and signed the order, finalising the decision to terminate his employment.
Meanwhile, the survivor expressed satisfaction with the disciplinary action taken against the accused.
The sexual assault occurred on March 18, 2023, when the young woman, who had undergone thyroid surgery, was lying semi-conscious in the ICU of Kozhikode Medical College. It was then that she was brutally assaulted allegedly by Saseendran, who was working as an attendant at the time.
