
Kozhikode: A KSRTC Swift bus lost control and rammed into people plucking mangoes from a roadside tree near Thamarassery in Kozhikode district. The accident occurred at Ambayathode, leaving three people injured, one of them critically.
The incident took place at around 5 am on Tuesday. The injured have been identified as Aaramukku Gafur (53) from Ambayathode, Bineesh (40) from Perumanna and Satheesh Kumar (42) from Edavannappara. They were given first aid at Thamarassery Taluk Hospital before being shifted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. Gafur's condition is reported to be critical.
Bineesh and his friend were on their scooter, and Satheesh Kumar and his companion were in their car while stopping to collect mangoes when the accident occurred. Local residents and fellow passengers immediately rushed to the scene and carried out rescue operations.
The KSRTC Swift bus involved in the accident was on its way from Bengaluru to Kozhikode. Thamarassery Police arrived and took measures to regulate traffic flow.
