The case concerns the alleged murder of Roy Thomas by his wife, Jolly, in September 2011

Kozhikode: Forensic surgeon has testified that cyanide was indeed the cause of Roy Thomas’s death in the Koodathayi murder case. Forensic surgeon Dr K Prasannan gave the testimony at the special trial court in Kozhikode.
Dr Prasannan stated that a chemical analysis was ordered following suspicions raised by Dr Sonu, the doctor who had performed the post-mortem examination on Roy’s body. Dr Sonu had indicated the possible presence of a toxic substance resembling cyanide, which led to further investigation.
The case concerns the alleged murder of Roy Thomas by his wife, Jolly, in September 2011. According to the investigation team, Jolly poisoned Roy by serving him chickpea curry laced with cyanide.
Dr Prasannan, during his testimony, confirmed that traces of cyanide were identified during the subsequent chemical examination, corroborating the suspicion raised during the post-mortem.
