Thiruvananthapuram: Vadakara MLA KK Rema on Thursday said that no case was registered against Sachin Dev MLA on the defamation complaint filed by her owing to political pressure. 

“This is a state where immediate action is taken if someone defames the chief minister through social media. In that very same place, the police are remaining indifferent towards a complaint filed by a people’s representative,” Rema said. 

“It’s been eight days since I lodged the complaint. It was through the media that I came to know about the decision of the cyber cell not to register a case. However, I will move ahead with legal procedures and file a defamation case,” she added. 

Rema had lodged the complaint against Sachin Dev alleging that he tried to defame her through social media in connection with the ruckus that took place in the Assembly.
