Kozhikode: Former MLA and CPM State committee member K K Lathika removed the controversial ‘kafir’ screenshot she posted on her Facebook page earlier. Not just that she has also locked her Facebook profile.
The move came in the wake of the UDF demand for her arrest in the controversial ‘Kafir’ jibe case. The police had recorded her statement and inspected her phone earlier in the case as she had shared the controversial screenshot.
While the police are repeatedly demanding the Facebook to remove the controversial post from Porali Shaji’s Facebook page, the same post had not been removed from Lathika’s page.
The fake screenshot was propagated as it was posted by MSF district secretary P K Muhammed Kasim in a WhatsApp group, Youth League Nidumbramanna, on April 25. However, the police later informed the court that such a message was not created or posted from Kasim’s phone. Subsequently, the doubt led to the CPM cyber warriors.
The UDF, which had to face severe criticisms over the fake message during the general election time, now alleges that the post appeared on a Facebook page named ‘Ambadimukku Saghakkal’. The police have approached Facebook for clarity in this regard, besides seeking information on the Porali Shaji page. Both are pro-CPM pages.
