Thiruvananthapuram: Indian Medical Association declared that the strike called after the killing of Dr Vandana Das at Kottarakkara taluk hospital will continue in Kerala. The strike will go on until the government launches an ordinance for hospital security and assuring the safety of the doctors. The decision to proceed with the strike came up after a meeting with the chief minister on Thursday morning.
IMA urged the government to introduce the ordinance in a time bound manner. The association also demanded a special probe into the death of house surgeon Vandana Das by a drug addict at the Kottarakkara hospital on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Kerala High Court on Thursday ordered to ensure round the clock security in hospitals.
