Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has decided to execute the ambitious e-mobility project as per the contract signed with Switzerland based company. As per the contract with Switzerland based firm HESS, 4000 e-buses will be manufactured in the state. The project which is estimated to cost Rs 6000 crore to the state treasury, will fall under a company formed by KSRTC, Kerala Automobile Limited, and HESS.
According to the reports, Chief Minister will convene a meeting on Tuesday evening to discuss the project. It is also learnt that the meeting will look into the matters concerning the formation of the company. Meantime, it is confirmed that HESS will have a 51 per cent share in the company.
The project came under scanner after former Opposition minister Ramesh Chennithala alleged there was corruption in the government’s contract with HESS and claimed that a global tender was not invited for the project. Following the controversy, the state government ousted PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) from the consultancy contract of the e-mobility project. Since then, the project was put on hold by the state.
