Thiruvananthapuram: The price of Indian-made foreign liquor, beer, and wine in Kerala have been increased, following a decision based on the demands of liquor manufacturing companies. The average price hike is up to 10%, with various brands seeing an increase of Rs 10 to Rs 50.

The price revision also includes an increase in the cost of Jawan rum, produced under Bevco. Jawan rum, previously priced at Rs 640, will now cost Rs 650, reflecting a Rs 10 hike.

Bevco has released the revised price list, which includes a price increase for 341 brands from 62 companies. While the prices of some brands will remain unchanged, the overall price hike will affect a significant number of liquor products in the state.

Liquor prices in Kerala are determined based on the 'rate contract' between Bevco and liquor companies, and price increases are typically approved after annual discussions. Harshita Attaluri, CMD of Bevco, confirmed that the current price increase was made following talks with the companies. The revised prices will be effective from Monday.
